Increasing Incoming Links to your Site
Search engines love to see that other sites link to you, but where do you start?
- If you handle the all of the travel for a company, ask them to add a link to your website on their employee site or intranet.
- Write an article about travel for a local organization’s newsletter and include a link to your site. Many times the newsletters creator is overworked and will gladly add a link back to your site in exchange for a well written article of interest to their members.
- Write articles or reviews on various destinations, resorts, cruise lines or tours that you have experienced. Your customers will love the feeling of knowing that they are booking their Vacation with someone who has “been there” and these articles will give search engines more of the types of content that they are looking for.
- Include photos you took while at on that trip in your review (you can even add a slide show to your review).
- See an example of Vacation Reviews
- Jamaica – SuperClubs Grand Lido Negril
- Los Cabos – Presidente InterContinental
- If you are a specialist for a destination or company, find out if the company or destinations tourism board offers an agency locator on their website. If they offer an agency locator, contact them about getting listed in the agency locator with your website link.
- For example, Looking at Tahiti Tourisms agency locator for Portland Oregon, five different agencies are listed, yet only 1 includes a link to their website.
